Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Perfectlights wants everyone to be able to use this website, including visitors with a visual, auditory, motor or cognitive impairment. We therefore aim to provide an accessible website in line with the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

This statement applies to the website www.perfectlights.be.

Current status

This website partially complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA. “Partially” means that the website largely meets the guidelines, but that a number of points still need improvement. The technical evaluation was carried out through an accessibility assessment by our web partner.

Non-accessible content

Our web partner has technically optimised the website for accessibility: semantic HTML with a logical heading structure, keyboard navigation with visible focus and a Skip to content link, sufficiently large touch targets on mobile devices, and alternative text for images. The following parts may nonetheless not be fully accessible at this time:

External apps and widgets. Third-party components — such as the payment page, the cookie notice, reviews or social feeds — fall outside our direct control. Their accessibility depends on the supplier.
Wishlist. The wishlist buttons on the products and the wishlist page itself are provided by an external app. We have no control over how those parts are built, so they may not fully meet the guidelines.
Product specifications. The specifications and colour names for the products come from an external product database. The completeness and clarity of those labels depend on the source data.
Alternative text for images. Images and media added by staff do not always have complete or descriptive alternative text. The website does provide the means to fill these in correctly.
Captions for video and audio. Not all video and audio fragments have captions or a text alternative.
PDF documents. Manuals, datasheets and other documents we offer as pdf come from the manufacturer and are not always tagged, and therefore not fully readable with a screen reader.

External pages

Content on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest is often not accessible. We have no control over those platforms. All content we publish there is therefore also made available on this website.

Improvement plan

The issues identified above will be addressed in future updates to the website. Accessibility is not a one-off check for us, but an ongoing consideration with every new feature and every new page.
